Abstract Funding Acknowledgements Type of funding sources: Public hospital(s). Main source(s): North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov Complete improvement left ventricle systolic function is an essential feature takotsubo syndrome (TTS). Speckle -tracking echocardiography (STE) provides quantitative information about myocardial deformation, more accurately than conventional echocardiography. Objective to assess the global longitudinal strain (GLS) and circumferential (GCS) by speckle-tracking in patients with TTS long-term period. Materials methods 14 female were monitored, average age 57.5 ± 28.5. The diagnosis was verified ventriculography 1 year attack, complaints patients, cardiovascular events (CE) signs heart failure evaluated. All underwent using a Vivid-4 (General Electric) Speckle-tracking function. ejection fraction (EF) (LV), zone disorders local contractility, level GLS GCS Results observation, all had good clinical condition, there no CE, absent. EF 56.3 3.45%; zones contractility found any patient. A below normal observed 7 (-12.05% 5.15%), (less -18%), reduced 3 (21.4%) (- 9.7 3.4%) at -18 below. Conclusions despite absence echocardiography, revealed 50% 20% patients. Thus, shows that some changes LV persist long term. It can be explained change orientation fibers due remodeling, but this requires further evaluation.

Left ventricular function after takotsubo is not fully recovered in long-term follow-up: A speckle tracking echocardiography study.

BACKGROUND Complete improvement of left ventricle (LV) systolic function is an essential feature of takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TTC). It is suggested that 2-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography (2D STE) can evaluate LV dysfunction more accurately than conventional echocardiography. Thus, the purpose of this research was to assertain whether LV function recovery is complete after the acut...

Assessment of the left ventricular systolic function in cardiac syndrome X using speckle tracking echocardiography

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to evaluate left ventricular (LV) systolic strain by speckle tracking echocardiography (STE) and real-time three-dimensional echocardiography (3-DE) for the early detection of myocardial dysfunction in patients with cardiac syndrome X (CSX). METHODS We compared 34 patients with CSX (18 females, mean age 47.9±10.0 years) with 41 healthy persons as a control ...

Impaired myocardial deformation in psoriatic arthritis patients assessment by speckle tracking echocardiography.

OBJECTIVE We aimed to evaluate left ventricular (LV) mechanics of patients diagnosed with PsA and no clinical evidence for cardiovascular disease (CVD) using a novel, more sensitive technique which evaluates myocardial deformation in multidimensional planes for the detection of impaired LV function. METHODS The study enrolled 31 PsA patients and sex-age matched 19 healthy controls. All partic...

Two-dimensional speckle-tracking echocardiography assessment of left ventricular remodeling in patients after myocardial infarction and primary reperfusion

INTRODUCTION Left ventricular remodeling (LVR) is the most prognostically important consequence of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The aim of the study was to assess the value of speckle tracking echocardiography in the prediction of left ventricular remodeling in patients after AMI and primary coronary angioplasty (PCI). MATERIAL AND METHODS Eighty-eight patients (F/M = 31/57 patients; 63...

Predicting Left Ventricular Dysfunction after Surgery in Patients with Chronic Mitral Regurgitation: Assessment of Myocardial Deformation by 2-Dimensional Multilayer Speckle Tracking Echocardiography

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES The development of postoperative left ventricular (LV) dysfunction is a frequent complication in patients with chronic severe mitral valve regurgitation (MR) and portends a poor prognosis. Assessment of myocardial deformation enables myocardial contractility to be accurately estimated. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the predictive value of preoperative re...
